Location:
Our development staff is completely virtual (no office) and each developer works from home. We are not considering applicants outside the U.S. No recruiters please.
Position Details:
We're seeking a full-time developer (no contractors please) with 3 to 5 years of experience in web development, object-oriented programming and relational database programming. You'll be working on all aspects of the TrackAbout offering including our ASP.NET website and web services, MS SQL Server and various wirelessly-networked mobile hand-held devices.
Your responsibilities will include designing and building new features, enhancing existing features, and fixing bugs. On occasion, you may be asked to provide second-tier technical customer support for requests that require deeper technical skills than our first-tier support engineers can handle.
All members of our development team are dedicated to keeping up with the latest technologies, practices, patterns and tools related to software development. We take time out to share our knowledge with one another and improve both our skills and our distributed development environment. We often experiment with and integrate new tools into our environment. We use ReSharper, Subversion, CruiseControl.NET, TDD with NUnit, FXCop, NCover, Bugzilla, MediaWiki, RhinoMocks, Ninject, NHibernate and jQuery to accelerate our development efforts.
Required Technical Skills:
* Building web-based applications and web services
* Object-oriented programming fundamentals
* C# (VB.NET is nice-to-have, but we’re phasing it out), ADO.NET, ASP.NET 2.0
* HTML/CSS/Javascript/AJAX
* Solid MSSQL programming skills (sprocs, udfs, triggers, indexes, constraints, etc.)
* XML/XSD/XSLT
* Experience with SCM/version control
Nice-to-Haves:
* Experience with common OO design patterns
* Test-driven development and NUnit
* Mobile device development (Windows Mobile, CF.NET)
* I18N and L10N development experience
* Experience in Agile environments

Since this is a work-at-home position, you'll be expected to be able work independently and unsupervised, but with clear goals and direction. We're results-oriented and we don't micromanage. You should have:
* Solid interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills
* A track record of providing reasonable estimates and sticking to them
* Insatiable curiosity, a love of learning and a desire to continuously improve
* Fanatical attention to detail
Education:
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field
Compensation:
* Will be market-competitive and commensurate with level of experience.
